Director/Senior Certified Pilates Instructor, Level 3 Teacher Trainer
Brie stumbled upon a watered down version of Pilates over 15 years ago at Temple University where she earned a BFA in Dance. After a severe neck injury destroyed her career in dance, she sought out Pilates teaching certification through world renowned Pilates expert Romana Kryzanowska and daughter Sari Mejia Santo where she began extensive, in depth private instruction. Upon completion of her teaching certificate, she intensified her training with Romana following her to New York, Brazil, Texas, and Paris.
Brie has taught Pilates all over Philadelphia as well as New York, New Jersey, and even as a guest instructor in Boston, MA and Rome, Italy as well as assistant to Romana and Sari in Brazil, Florida, and Texas. Seeing the need for quality Pilates instruction in Center City, Philadelphia, she opened Equilibrium Pilates, LLC in April of 2003. She continues to study privately with Romana and Sari in her quest to provide the purest, safest and most effective form of Pilates available.
Brie also taught and built the Pilates Program in the Dance Department at the University of the Arts from 1998 to 2009. In 2004, she received the tremendous honor of being handpicked from hundreds of candidates world-wide to become Level 3 representative and teacher trainer for Romana's Pilates®. Brie has received numerous awards including Philadelphia Magazine's "2005 Best of Philly" award and “Best Fitness Instructor” award for the Philadelphia Weekly ICON Award in 2009.
