Brie Adina Neff

Brie Adina Neff stumbled upon a watered-down version of Pilates in 1994 at Temple University, where she earned her BFA in Dance. After a severe neck injury destroyed her career in dance, she sought out Pilates teaching certification through world-renowned Pilates expert Romana Kryzanowska and daughter Sari Santo where she began extensive, in-depth private instruction. Upon completion of her teaching certificate, Brie intensified her training with Romana by following her to New York, Brazil, Texas, and Paris, where she worked as Romana’s assistant and strengthened her practice.

Brie taught Pilates all over Philadelphia as well as New York, New Jersey, and even as a guest instructor in Boston, MA and Rome, Italy. Seeing the need for quality Pilates instruction in Philadelphia, she created Equilibrium Pilates in April of 2003. Brie continued to study privately with Romana and Sari in her quest to provide the purest, safest and most effective form of Pilates possible.

Continuing the work of founder Joseph Pilates through Romana and Sari, all of Equilibrium’s instructors have graduated from and maintain certification through Romana’s Pilates®. Brie has a deeper understanding of the Pilates system as well as the individual exercises and how they relate to the body.

Besides creating Equilibrium Pilates, Brie has also taught at and built the Pilates program in the Dance Department at Philadelphia’s University of the Arts from 1998 to 2009. In 2004, she received the tremendous honor of being handpicked from hundreds of candidates world-wide to become a Level 3 representative and Teacher Trainer for Romana’s Pilates®. Qualified applicants can pursue their own certification in Romana’s Pilates® through Brie’s intensive Teacher Training Program at Equilibrium Pilates.
